Size of baby: Baby is the size of a watermelon! Yikes! Between 19-21" long and between 6.2-9.2lbs. This range hasn't changed in the past few weeks, so it just varies, baby to baby.
Weight gain: I've gained less than 2 lbs this week. My goodness, I have a lot to lose once baby arrives. I'm not too worried about it. It is just crazy to see the numbers on the scale these days!
Development / Movement: Baby Squish is probably able to flex his/her limbs now, and fingernails may now extend past the fingertips. Squishy's brain is also still rapidly developing -- our little Squish is getting smarter by the week! I suppose that is one benefit of not having gone into labour just yet.
Sleep: Sleep isn't consistent, that's for sure - but I can't complain (most nights). I get up about 5 times per night to pee (my bladder is squashed down to the size of about a nailhead I think), but I am a good sleeper and am able to fall back asleep pretty quickly most of the time. I had some pretty severe round ligament pain again Wednesday night, which I haven't had in a while. This was likely because I spent most of Wednesday day walking instead of resting. Short naps are now becoming more regular in the afternoons, but not every day.
Last night I slept on the couch. Our little Juliet was having stomach "issues" and wanted to go outside every 30-60 minutes. I probably got about 3 hours of sleep the entire night and started my morning off with a brutal headache. If I were to go into labour today I'd be pretty useless. No more nights like that from now on.
What I miss: Nothing right now, I'm just ready to meet our little bundle! SO. READY.
Best moment this week: This was a good week, once again. We babysat Linden on Sunday for a little while, which I always love. He was an absolute JOY that day and in such a good, giggly mood. It was fun for sure. On Monday I took it pretty easy and just did a few things around the house. I got my hair done on Tuesday (not sure when I'll be able to go back, so I purposely made an appointment close to my due date) and then on Tuesday evening we ordered some spicy Szechuan food and took it over to Christie and Sheldon's new place. We watched "Last Vegas" which was kind of cute and funny.
Wednesday I went out with Anita, Diana and the babies to walk around the mall since it was raining and we couldn't walk outside. Thursday was my doctor's appointment. It was a bit of a disappointment (will explain in "labour symptoms"), but always good to hear baby's heart beat and to know that everything is ok!
Last night, Anita and Jeff had us over for a really nice, healthy dinner. I was totally in the mood for some good, light food and it was really delicious.
Looking forward to: Being un-pregnant and meeting the newest love of my life. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to being a Mommy. Ready any time now!
Symptoms/Labour Symptoms: Well, as the doctor informed me this week, nothing down below is progressing just yet. Hubby liked the way I described it last time... things are still "buttoned up tight". I have had lots of contractions and cramping, but they always go away. I wasn't able to get my membrane sweep done because my cervix is still closed, so if things progress by my next appointment, he will do a sweep then.
The waiting game continues!
