17 Weeks
Size of baby: An onion. Now that's not a fun one! Just over 5" long and almost 6 ounces.
Weight gain: I haven't weighed myself in a while. Definitely getting bigger!
Maternity clothes: Loving my new maternity jeans. I wear the black ones often. When I am around the house, I am often in lulus still.
Nursery: We haven't done much this week but are getting all of the rest of our ideas together and I'm so excited for the rest of it to come together. Obviously Trey and I are way ahead of the game in the nursery department, but it will feel great to have it done.
Development / Movement: I should start to feel movement in the next few weeks, but I haven't felt any kicks yet. Baby's cartilage is now turning to bone, and Squish is putting on some fat! News flash: so is Mom.
Sleep: I'm starting to have issues with sleep. I've been told it is time to stop sleeping on my back, and I'm also a little uncomfortable sleeping on my front because of my growing bump. I'm now using the pregnancy pillow (so sexy), and I sleep alright, but I wake often to get comfy again.
What I miss: My blonde hair. I darkened it so that I wouldn't have as much upkeep with the highlights, but my stylist went a few shades darker than I was prepared for. It has lightened significantly, but I still miss being a blondie. As long as I can get a good few months in without colouring my hair, I'll feel better. Then I can gradually introduce highlights again. Hopefully soon.
Best moment this week: Fintry was by far the best moment. We had a total blast and it was also super relaxing, which is just what we needed. I also spent a night taking care of Linden so that Anita and Jeff could get some rest. It was good practice and the little nugget was so good for me.
Looking forward to: My doctor's appointment this Wednesday. I always like those, as well as dinner at Nafeesa and Zaman's place on Thursday night. I'm REALLY looking forward to hopefully feeling baby kick soon. Any day now!
Cravings: Still pickles and cheese. Yummy!!!
Symptoms: Heart burn and headaches, but not very often. Oh, and I don't think I have mentioned this before, but I pee every 5 minutes. This has been going on since day one, but some weeks I notice more than others. If I'm out and about running errands, I often have to ask in stores if they have a washroom open to the public. It isn't easy!
Workouts: Started going to Bar Method classes again and I think this is the perfect workout for pregnancy. Strengthening the legs, abs, butt, and all of the supporting muscles in your lower abdomen... does it get better? It is so much fun and I don't have to worry about my heart rate going through the roof, either.

16 Weeks
I'm actually 16 weeks and 3 days now. I wasn't able to blog until today, as my hubby's parents, Aunt and Uncle were in town visiting us and just left today. It was a busy week here!
Size of baby: Avocado. Over 4 1/2" and weighing about 3.5 ounces!
Weight gain: No change
Maternity clothes: This week, my mother-in-law was kind enough to take me shopping for some maternity jeans for my birthday. I got two pairs of maternity skinny jeans in dark wash and black. These are the greatest things ever invented! They look like jeans but they feel like you're wearing yoga pants! Amazing.
Nursery: Trey's Uncle Bill put together our crib during their visit this week! It looks so great and really makes the room feel like a nursery. He did it in under an hour, too - which was very impressive!
Development / Movement: Baby Squish is growing hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. He/she can also hear our voices! This makes me happy and I plan on playing lots of music for Squish in the next several months.
Sleep: I slept pretty well this week but have been having lots of weird dreams (thanks to pregnancy hormones), so I have been feeling a little groggy. I got to nap a few times this week, which helped.
What I miss: This is a funny one. I don't miss it yet, but I know that I'm going to have to take out my belly button piercing now that my belly is growing. It is kind of silly, but I have had it since I was 17 years old, so I am a little attached.
Best moment this week: We had a fun week with my husband's family. Lots of little activities and a short trip to the Sunshine Coast. We also celebrated my birthday on the Sunday and Monday before the Geigers and Millers arrived. That was really nice. We had a birthday brunch with friends at our house on Sunday and on Monday (the 19th, my actual birthday), Trey sent me to the Sense Spa at Hotel Georgia for a relaxing body wrap and massage. Later that evening we went to Coast for dinner together. Very nice birthday "week" all around! Photos below.
Looking forward to: Today I am going shopping with Anita and Linden, and this evening I'm getting a pedicure with Christie. Not a bad day! Also looking dinner with Nafeesa on Wednesday and a visit from Aliyah on Thursday. Most of all, I'm looking forward to spending the long weekend with Anita, Jeff, and Anita's parents, Vyvienne and Neil in Fintry (Kelowna). We always have a great time there and the dogs also love it! We are due for a relaxing weekend in the sun, that's for sure.
Cravings: Pickles and cheese. I have to admit, I often crave pickles and cheese, but this week I feel like I could eat them every day. Yeah, together. It is delicious and you should try it.
Symptoms: Feeling pretty good. A few headaches this week again, but nothing too dramatic.
Workouts: Same - weight training mostly. Walking.

Gender Neutral Nursery Inspiration
Here is my inspiration board for a gender neutral nursery. It includes some of the items we have already ordered and there are a few other details that were tough to get images of. For example, we are collecting really nice stuffed animals in creams and greys that will sit on a shelf over the changing table. We have also ordered a 3-foot tall giraffe for the corner of the room.
Anyway, this is a start! I will post photos as the nursery starts to come together a little more.

15 Weeks
Size of baby: Navel orange (one of my favourite fruits). Squish now weighs in at 2.5 ounces and measures 4 inches!
Weight gain: Same. Down a few pounds, but I feel a lot bigger!
Maternity clothes: Yes, and yes. Leggings are my friend, as are maternity tank tops. I can still wear my normal t-shirts, but any kind of form-fitting pants are too tight now.

Nursery: The colours look amazing and Trey has now also siliconed around the crown moulding and ceiling medallion so it is looking less like a room that is new construction. Very polished! I will post details in my next post on some of the items I have ordered. The crib and glider chair arrived this week! Eeeeee!!!
Development / Movement: Legs are now longer than arms and so baby is starting to take on proper proportions. Joints and limbs can all move now, but I can't feel it yet.
Sleep: Same. Awesome. I do notice the feeling of a little bump when I sleep on my tummy, but it hasn't really bothered me much yet. It is still so small.
What I miss: I haven't had time to think about the things I miss. It has been a busy week! I guess I could say that I miss some of my cute summer shorts that are now a little tight in the button.
Best moment this week: Busy week! I had lunch with my friend, Laura. I met with a new design client. I helped Renée and Stu choose paint colours for their kitchen. Brittany came for dinner and a good hangout. My favourite part of this week was probably our ultrasound. I love seeing Trey's face when he can look at the screen before they show me. He seems so happy and excited. Makes my heart happy!
Looking forward to: My birthday. Although I'm not making a big deal of it this year, it will be nice to have a brunch at home with our closest friends tomorrow. Tonight we are also going to Renée and Stu's for a BBQ to celebrate Stu's birthday.
Cravings: Fruit. I always love fruit, but this week I can't get enough.
Symptoms: Feeling good! Since I'm not napping, I do get sleepy early in the evening... but I think that's pretty normal.
Workouts: Consistent and regular but not intense. It is just what I can handle right now. Hoping to start some bar method classes up again in a few weeks.

Second Trimester Begins: 14 Weeks
Well, I finally see the first sign of a baby bump and I'm loving it! I knew that my skinny jeans were getting a little snug, but for the first time, Trey and I can actually notice a change. From here on out it is grow, baby, grow!
Size of baby: Lemon! Almost 3 1/2" and 1.5 ounces! Growing fast!
Weight gain: Had a doctor's appointment this week and I'm down another pound and a half.
Maternity clothes: Haven't been wearing maternity clothes, but I'm ready for them. Instead, I've been avoiding the tighter pairs of jeans and sticking with dresses, lulus, and other comfy things.

Nursery: The painting is well under way and nearly complete. I've also ordered a few things that should arrive very soon.
Development / Movement: Squishy has doubled in size since last week and can already suck on its thumb and wiggle those little toes. A thin coating of "peach fuzz"-like hair is now covering baby's body to help keep him/her warm.
Sleep: I sleep like a baby (haha). No more afternoon naps, though. My energy is definitely up!
What I miss: Are we back to this again? Wine. Red wine in particular at the moment.
Best moment this week: Hearing baby's heart beat at the doctor's office. It was approximately 160. I also had a great facial, and reconnected with a lovely young lady that I used to babysit over 10 years ago. Lastly, it was my friend Christie's 25th birthday last night, and we had a great time at her parent's place for a backyard BBQ.
Looking forward to: I should say my birthday, since it is on the 19th, but for the first time, I'm not that excited for it. I just want a quiet birthday celebration with some close friends and my hubby. I am looking forward to a busy week ahead - some new design work coming, a few more friends' birthdays, and an ultrasound appointment on Thursday (I LOVE seeing baby on the screen)!
Cravings: Food in general is a lot more appealing to me as my appetite slowly returns. I've baked some homemade oatmeal, brown sugar, coconut chewy cookies that are pretty much to die for.
Symptoms: Bigger boobs (yeahhhh, seriously!). Otherwise I feel normal.
Workouts: I'm doing about 2-3 workouts a week and in between just walking.

13 Weeks
Size of baby: A peach. Just under 3" long and .8 ounces
Weight gain: Same, still down a few pounds. I haven't been weighing myself regularly, so will have to start doing that soon.
Maternity clothes: Coming soon, I'd imagine. I don't really need them at this very moment, but some of my tighter jeans are getting a little tighter just at the button. Fun.
Gender: I'm going to take this category out soon, since we really aren't going to find out. I will say that my smart friend, Brittany (who normally has a good track record for these things) told me I was pregnant and that it was a girl before I even told her the news! Crazy!

Nursery: Trey picked up the paint and has started painting the ceiling. We are doing the ceiling a very pale blue like the sky (which I argue is very gender neutral) and the walls are a creamy white, like vanilla ice cream. I'm so excited to start decorating!
Development / Movement: Baby's head is now 1/3 the size of the body, which means Squish is starting to look more like a baby now. Vocal cords are forming this week. That is kinda cool!
Sleep: While I still sleep very well, I am definitely feeling my energy return. I haven't had a nap for several days now and have been going to the gym. These are huge improvements!
What I miss: Feeling good this week and not feeling super deprived of my favourite things. It helps that I've been able to find lots of brie cheese that is pasteurized in the grocery store.
Best moment this week: Linden. I've been helping Anita and Jeff out lots this week since baby has come home. When they need a nap or a break, I'm there to watch that adorable prince! Anita and I have had lots of good visits and I've had lots of nice snuggle time with my little "nephew". Also loved telling family and friends that we are pregnant! We have had so many nice messages of love and support and it is SO nice not to have to keep it a secret!
Looking forward to: Not having to do any more work in the basement. Christie and Sheldon moved in the day Linden was born (July 27), and the only job we had left was the kitchen backsplash, which is now complete. It was exhausting and I'm glad it is now finished.
Cravings: Nothing really.
Symptoms: This week I feel pretty normal. I'm less bloated than I was in the first month, I have more energy, and I generally feel mostly like myself.
Workouts: Going well! I am doing interval training and weight training, but nothing too intense on the cardio front.
